Swedish Modern – a story of modernism’s visual expressions in Sweden. It is also a story of the ideological explosion of aesthetics, its limitations and contradictions. The will to improve, excel and simplify life was important elements of the era. Both beauty and housing would be for everyone. Swedish Modern consists of 800 photographs showing architecture, furniture, decorations, crafts and exhibition of the aesthetics that was established in the 1930s.
